Challenges[]
- Light the Torches - Light all of the torches using a flamethrower.
- Run Outta Town - Beat the level in 2:35 (2 minutes, 35 seconds).
- Cry Babies - Kill twenty Enemigos with Tear Gas launcher.
- Big Bang - Kill three Enemigos with the same explosion.
- Chest of Chicken - Carry a chicken to the map chest (last room/section of the area)
Chest Locations[]
Chest 1:[]
When you first spawn, at the very beginning of the Level, you will land on a rope, and McCoy will hang from it. It may look like a pit beneath it, but the chest is actually down there. Release (press the down arrow key) from the rope, and grab the first chest.
Chest 2:[]
In the second section of the area/room, there will be a Gatling Gun Enemigo, and then four ropes and two Crushers. Right before the Gatling Gun Enemigo, where the supposed-pit is, there is steps on the left side. Hop down them, then jump over to the cave-like area to the right.
Chest 3:[]
Again in the second section of the area/room, on the platform beside the four ropes (the left end of the ropes will be attached to it) is a ladder rung directly up. McCoy can't jump high enough to reach it, so go back (left) a few platforms to where the Iron Crate is. If you already destroyed it, you won't be able to get this chest this time, and will have to re-play. Go back to the platform the left end of the ropes are attached to, set the crate down, jump on top of it, then jump up and grab the ladder rung. Jump up to the right onto the ledge, then jump to the left and grab the rope. Climb across (be careful: mines will fall from the sky, and towards the end are two flamethrowers) until you reach the end, then jump leftward down and onto the platform with the third chest.
Chest 4:[]
In the third section of the area, there will be a Green Swinging Enemigo, Brown Swinging Enemigo and two Crushers. Defeat them, then pass through the first Crusher. You will see a strange platform (it is brown). Drop down, then grab the fourth chest. Underneath this chest is an easter egg, where there is a chair and a Cactus McCoy poster, McCoy's "hideout."
Chest 5:[]
After collecting the fourth chest, drop down the rest of the way. Keep going forward and defeat all of the enemigos. When you reach the place where you are about to exit the area, stop. Jump left onto a small ladder. Go up and jump onto the next two ladders. Ascend them to reach the fifth chest.
Weapons[]
The following weapons are first encountered in this level:
Obstacles[]
- Crushers
- Flame Hazards
- Airborne Mines
Trivia[]
- Sunset Gulch is Cactus McCoy's hometown, according to his Flipdeck.
- It is the only area to have the Airborne Mines obstacles.
